Cajun Salmon
Spicy Cajun-seasoned salmon fillets.
Ingredients
- 1FOR THE HOMEMADE CAJUN SEASONING (Makes ~1/4 cup):
- 22 tsp paprika (smoked or regular)
- 31 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 41 1/2 tsp onion powder
- 51 tsp dried oregano
- 61 tsp dried thyme
- 71 tsp sea salt
- 81/2 tsp black pepper
- 91/2-1 tsp cayenne pepper (to taste)
- 10FOR THE SALMON:
- 114 salmon fillets (6 oz each), skin-on
- 122 tbsp olive oil
- 132 tsp cajun seasoning (sugar-free)
- 141 tsp smoked paprika
- 151/2 tsp sea salt
- 161/4 tsp black pepper
- 171 lemon, cut into wedges for serving

MAKE THE CAJUN SEASONING: Add all spices to a small bowl or jar.

Mix well or shake to combine. Store in an airtight container for up to 6 months.

PREPARE THE SALMON:

Pat salmon fillets dry with paper towels and generously coat both sides with Cajun seasoning.

Heat a skillet over medium-high heat and add a thin layer of oil.

Place salmon skin-side down in the hot skillet and cook for 4-5 minutes until the bottom is crispy and golden.

Flip the salmon and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes, or until fish is cooked through and reaches an internal temperature of 145°F.

Remove from heat, squeeze fresh lemon juice over the fillets, and serve immediately.
